Lenovo G510 wifi and ethernet problem

2015-02-13, 9:25 AM

Hello!

I have two Lenovo laptops G50 and G510. The first one works perfectly but the second one after 10 months started yesterday exhibiting problems with the newtork adapter.

The Wi-fi button is greyed-out and cannot be opened and the ethernet port cannot read any cable. I have tried every solution that I found in the web (disabling and enabling the devices, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, system refresh and system format) but failed. The ethernet adapter is not even appearing in the network devices after the restoration of the system to its initial point (format), even after installing the drivers for the LAN adapter that I found in Lenovo support site. And all this happened yesterday when the only change of the system was a windows update. However if that was the problem the system restoration, refresh and format should have fixed the issue.

I was using windows 8.1 but now after the format I use windows 8 64 bit. Could you give any advice? Could it be a hardware issue? I am getting desperate here.

Really weird that both got defect at the same time. Try the following pull out the battery and the power source and press 5 times on the on/off button without any power supply. And reboot again.

If this isn't working try booting in safemode with networking and see what happens in here. In the login screen hold shift and choose option reboot. you will see Win8 advanced options.
