Welcome to the Community Forums.
Try to check first if the DVD drive show up in the BIOS (FN + F2 on restart or from off status using the Novo button).
This would allow you if the physical dvd device is mechanically detected by the motherboard and is not related to any drivers or Operating System.
Initial tab should show the same drive listed along with the harddrive within the BIOS screen.
If so, then reseating the drive (removing and placing it back making sure contact points are secured.
Here is the hardware manual that can help as a guide.
Update us soon as convenient.

Resting the BIOS should be automatic after f9 then F10 to save and restart.
Did you notice your DVD drive in the BIOS?

How to check "Did you notice your DVD drive in the BIOS?"
See the screenshot i taken from bios menu...
Mod's Edit: Image removed for the owner's protection as it showed the serial number of the system. Please edit out the serial number if you wish to re-post the image. Thanks!
BIOS Screen only shows the hard drive. The ODD is NOT shown

As Majestic checked the BIOS screenshot, ODD was not being detected so it appears as if there is no ODD on your machine on a mechanical level. Reseat the drive as shown in the hardware manual page 42.
Make sure that there is a good contact and clean with canned air if needed.
Else, you may have to test it with another optical drive before purchasing a new one.

I kinda doubt software issue as the BIOS does not need any aside from the BIOS firmware to detect.
Best way to check is using a known good part.
Have the same drive tested on another machine or have another DVD drive on the same laptop.

Here is how to fix DVD Not detected In Windows 10
1- Right click on the Windows icon and from the context menu that appears, find and click on the option named Device Manager.
2- A separate window for Device Manager opens up. Now look for an entry named DVD/CD-ROM Drives and expand it by clicking on the associated side arrow. Right click on the DVD driver in use, and click on the Uninstall option.
3- When asked for device uninstall confirmation, click on OK button.
4- As next, click on Action tab and then on Scan for hardware changes.
5- Now find the standard DVD driver just like before and right click on it. This time, click on the Update Driver Software option.
6- Click on Search automatically for updated driver software option.
