Lenovo G570 Network Controller Issues

Okay so this is not the first time I have had this problem, but the past times I have taken it in to be repaired, however I know full well that is not necessary. Long story short my wireless doesn't work without an external adapter, and in 'Device Manager' under the 'Network Adapters' list, the 'Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter' has a yellow warning symbol next to it. Not sure how relevent this is to the issue but also I sometimes have another list called 'Other Adapters' (or something similar) and under there with the yellow warning symbol it says 'Network Controller', however as I am posting this with the other info above, there is no 'Other Adapters' list.

Thanks Smiley Happy

hi HarveyBishop99,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Can you check your BIOS

F2 when turning ON the computer

Then go to Configuration and Make sure that the Wireless or WLAN is Enabled

Re: Lenovo G570 Network Controller Issues

Yes wireless is enabled there, I also have a new 'Intel My Wifi Technology: Adapter Not Found' icon on the taskbar menu (bottom right of screen), and fn+f5 is not bringing up the option to turn wifi off as it used to.

Re: Lenovo G570 Network Controller Issues

hi HarveyBishop99,

Can you check under your Device Manager now and see the Atheros device,

Rightclick on it and select Properties, Tell me what's the status shown there,

Thanks
