Hello Guys, I decided to upgrade my lovely laptop instead of buying a new one. I upgraded my ram to 8 gb and hdd to ssd. I also want to upgrade my processor but could not find a proper answer about "which i7 processor I can use on my g570 motherboard" I'll be the happiest man if someone helps me with this issue... Thanks a lot.

What cpu do you have now?

How about a i5?
i5-2450M will work.

Not sure on the i7s, but would be second gen for sure.
Maybe i7-2620M, or 2640.

Chipset should support i7.

But alot depends on the bios support, and if Lenovo did
or did not sell that model with i7. Probably not, so bios
support may not be there.

My cpu is i5 2410M...As I get there is no way I can upgrade my laptop to i7...Are you sure about that?

I talked to support technicans and they told me " upgrading cpu might cause possible break down of the mainboard since this system is optimized during production" . Anyway, this is not that important because I got upgrading to ssd helps performance better than upgrading cpu. My windows welcomes me in 7 seconds after upgrading to ssd and 8 gbs of ram though it works on i5 2410. I had used a laptop with 8 gbs of ram and i7 2630qm processor and 5400 rpm hdd last summer. But my present i5 system works with more performance at the moment.

Hello ppl. Yeah I know I am crazy lol. I decided to upgrade my processor. I'll upgrade my G570 processor from i5 2410m to i7 2630qm in a few days and I'll write down the instructions and results on this post

according to the manual, you can upgrade to 2620. try this one first if you can.

ps: upgrading the cpu will void the warranty.

I think CPU upgrade depends on the chipset then a strong cooling system. I don't care warranty that much. Worst is I'll have to buy a new motherboard for 150 bucks. This is my test machine and I wanna see its limits. If I don't have a problem with CPU heat then everything will be ok. I have just bought Arctic MX-4 for this upgrade since I could not find Arctic Silver 5 anywhere. But it wont be a big problem for mx4 is also a good thermal paste. The reason why I'll upgrade to 2630 is I could not find 2620 model nearby. Hope me luck:)

hi i want to know too cuz i got the lenvo g570 as a gift and im planning on upgrading the 4gb of ram to 8gb and uprading 320gb of hard drive to 1tb and intel pentium  cpu to an other cpu but i need to wait two years i would be happy if someone gave me recomendations on the cpu
