My lenovo G580, i switched on wednesday 27th Sept 2017 and when I tried putting it on, on the 29th sept 2017, it refused to come on. Tested the adapter on Multimeter, its okay. When I press the power button, the light on top comes on and I hear a beep sound, then nothing. Tried methods of holding down the power button 10 times at a second interval, then 30seconds, still no help. Tried pressing shift and F8 together and pressing the power on, continued pressing the shift and F8, still no results. Tried connecting using USB to HDM but no success. Please help. Thank you in advance

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
If the unit is refusing to turn on, then by the sounds of things, this will be a hardware issue, I would recommend that you get in touch with the local lenovo support line, and request a repair.
Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

At first they said it was the fan which had dust and this was causing the heating. Then they said it was the mother and were looking to see if they can repair it. Yesterday, they called and said the motherboard was burnt due to damage caused by power shortages we experience in the country. And they advised for the replacement of the motherboard. Am still waiting for them to call me as they said they would further advise me. Thanks
