Lenovo G580

2019-04-28, 12:01 PM

I have a LENOVO G580.

The laptop came with a C: D: and E: drive configured.

I am now getting a constant message that the E: drive is full and needs cleaning.

When  looking at the drive in Explorer no files are shown.

I have tried to use Disk Clean up on the drive with no affect.

Does anyone know what the E drive is used for and how I can stop the message appearing?

Hi ken701,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

What WIndows version are you using and the one that came with the machine originally?

Better if you try backing up all your files first before any changes. I was thinking of updates causing creation of additional partition as recovery of Windows. This may also happen assigning a virtual drive too.

Try getting a snapshot of the disk management (follow this article to open disc management) so we can further evauluate the drive if its ok to simply remove it using diskpart.

Update us how it goes.
