Lenovo G70-80 problem with cd / dvd drive

Czytałem wiele podpowiedzi w internecie na ten temat, m.in.:
https://support.microsoft.com/pl-pl/help/314060/your-cd-or-dvd-drive-is-not-recognized-by-windows-or...
http://www.dell.com/support/article/pl/pl/pldhs1/sln148709/nap%C4%99d-optyczny-nie-jest-rozpoznawany...

http://pcfaq.pl/windows/brak-napedu-dvd-w-windows-system-nie-rozpoznaje-napedu-dvd/

Niestety zawarte tam sugestie nie rozwiązały problemu.
Zaktualizowałem wszystkie sterowniki ze strony Lenovo, odinstalowałem sterownik napędu i ponownie go zainstalowałem.

English:
Hi, probably after the last critical update on my computer I can not use the cd / dvd drive.
In the management of the computer is labeled "no cd media" in the device manager, the drive is visible in the "My Computer" window also.
The tray after issuing the "Eject" command opens with no problem but unfortunately the drive does not respond to the media.

I've read a lot of hints on the internet, including:
https://support.microsoft.com/pl-pl/help/314060/your-cd-or-dvd-drive-is-not-recognized-by-windows-or...
http://www.dell.com/support/article/pl/pl/pldhs1/sln148709/nap%C4%99d-optyczny-nie-jest-rozpoznawany...? lang = en

http://pcfaq.pl/windows/brak-napedu-dvd-w-windows-system-nie-rozpoznaje-napedu-dvd/

Unfortunately the suggestions contained there did not solve the problem.
I updated all the drivers from Lenovo, uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver.
I've done a lot of trials and finally reinstalled the system using the Media Creation Tool but keeping the files and folders.
Unfortunately this also did not help.
In my notebook I have UEFI BIOS but never used it and I do not know the proper configuration of the cd / dvd drive nor the terms used in the BIOS. Perhaps you need to determine if the drive is properly configured. Maybe there's a reason?
I'm already helpless.
Can someone help me and provide the right hint?

Re: Lenovo G70-80 problem with cd / dvd drive

Hi Janusz3,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If cleaning the drive won't help then possible to try a spare DVD drive with the machine or even an external optical drive. It would also be possible to try a bootable DVD and check if it would detect and read the media. Optical lens may be failing or other components of the drive.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards

Thank you.
"then can drive a spare drive with the machine" - can you specify it?

Re: Lenovo G70-80 problem with cd / dvd drive

Hi Janusz3,

You can try another DVD drive to replace the original DVD drive (guide on page 43 here on the hardware manual) if available. Example of compatible optical drives here on page 87-88 item 18.

If you do not have an extra drive then try a bootable DVD to check.

Regards

Re: Lenovo G70-80 problem with cd / dvd drive

Hi, thank you for the information. I think you have to replace the drive. This may be a technical malfunction. And one more question.
How to check the UEFI BIOS, can you see the cd / dvd drive there?

Re: Lenovo G70-80 problem with cd / dvd drive

Hi Janusz3,

Fn + F2 on restart or powering the machine using the Novo button (item 2 page 78) would open the BIOS.

Since device manager shows the DVD drive then most likely it would also show there.
