Re: Lenovo Ideapad G460 Bios Update Failed

Hello,

I have a Lenovo Ideapad G460, I am trying to upgrade my bios but it failed. What I did is I had downloaded the bios update from the lenovo site and run the update program and followed all the instructions. During the process of flashing, the application encountered an error. I restarted the laptop and tried Insyde Bios Crisis Recovery using the Fn + B. After several attempts to find the correct filename, the last attempt to flash gave me a series of beeps while flash disks reads, then afterwards, it had powered down the laptop. When I tried to turn on the laptop, the screen is still blank, and now I  am trying to do the crisis recovery again, but now when I press the Fn + B combination, no beeps occurs and flash disk doesn't blink, the fan is spinning at full speed and shut itself down after 10 seconds. I already tried many times already and still gave me the same result. I had already exhausted all methods for flashing but no luck on it.

Any help would be appreciated to save my laptop.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad G460 Bios Update Failed

Hi,

Yes, I had this checked with the msi-ecs service center, they just reported it to have the video chip problem due to overheating in which I am very doubtful on the findings since only the processor is connected to the heatsink and unlikely for the video chip to get damaged on bios flash. Any idea?

Thanks a lot. :)

Re: Lenovo Ideapad G460 Bios Update Failed

Oh If you are in the Philippines forget about lenovo, they don't do anything here. they just say random things that have nothing to do with anything until you are forced to give up trying...

It's a normal cultural thing.

This model have bios problem:

As lenovo's only recommendation is to go to a "service center", u are out of luck my friend...

....Next flight to hongkong, go to their service center and they'll no what to do!
