Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming crashes to black screen with white flickering blocks on top suddenly

2021-04-07, 15:50 PM

My Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming suddenly started crashing to a black screen with white block lines on top screen , sometimes white blocks all over the screen.

I noticed this happening while playing some games like valorant , sometimes it also happens even when using google chrome. After it crashes keyboard backlit is working normally and fan is also running , but audio goes off. I also tried projecting to external screen but it is not projecting to external monitor. The only option is to force shut down by holding power button and restart the pc. If I restart laptop just after crash it seems to crash again even before loading OS, but if i restart it after some time it opens normally.

Any idea whats going on here?? Ig some graphic card issue is there

Hello NG102,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thank you for initiating a post in the boards.

I would suggest first to try updating your machine display drivers from the support site. On the support page, enter your machine serial number to load the correct drivers, go to Drivers and Software tab, click on the Manual Update and then update the display drivers.

You can also initiate running a diagnostics to your machine to see what are the possible triggers or the components responsible for freezing. You may include the results so we can see.

Finally, try to check if you have the current BIOS version installed as recommended on the support page. Simply check the drivers version of your machine if it matches the version uploaded on the support site.

Let us know about these.

Regards.

Hey, I am facing the same issue from past 2-3 months, did you find any solution???

Also I have AMD graphic card, so every time this happens, I get a popup that my graphic driver has crashed.

(I have Ideapad 330s 15Ikb)

Hi NG102,

How was it going if you would run the game in a lower setting?

Also, I'm wondering what is the result of the diagnostics that was advised on previous reply?

Regards.
