Currently my Lenovo G50-70 has a qualcomm atheros ar956x that has severely poor performance, so I wanted to upgrade to a Wireless AC adapter. after recieving the part listed as "WirelessLan_Intel, Intel 3160 1x1AC+BT PCIE NGFF WLAN" in the HMM, it booted to a screen that said "Unauthorized wireless card, please power off and unplug". So in finding that this card didnt work, I ordered the part listed as "Ltn NFA345 AC+BT4.0 PCIE M.2 WLAN Card For Lenovo B50 Series ,FRU 04X6023 20200579" and had the same result. After messaging the lenovo cs twitter and having them tell me Im basically SoL I decided to make a forum account.
Can anyone help? My BIOS and drivers are all at the most current version. I can supply any additional information needed. Included are photos of the current and new cards, the new one has a green dot on it

What is the machine type and model of your machine?
Who did you order the parts from? Lenovo/Encompass or other.
The OEM Intel 3160= part 20200418=04X6034 (picture below).
WirelessLan_Intel, Intel 3160 1x1AC+BT PCIE NGFF WLAN
Your new part is 04X6022 <this failed?
LITEON HA335WB3351X1 BGN+BT4.0 M.2 COMBO <<note BGN
Your other new part is 04X6023=part 20200579 <this failed?
LTN HFA345 1X1AC+BT4.0
CBT BCM43162 1X1AC+BT4.0 PCIE M.2 WLAN
All new user parts(2 new) failed at boot time. Not in the BIOS whitelist.

Nono I tried the Intel 3160 that was listed in the HMM and it did not work so I returned it and got the Ltn NFA345. The Ltn also did not work despite stating it would in the HMM.

What is the model number of your machine? and which part is the OEM part that came with the machine(atheros)>realtek, broadcomm, etc.
Are you window 10?
new part 04X3022 ..researching this part
new part 04X6023=part 20200579 NON intel 3160 should work, unless you got a non Lenovo version.
I did ask earlier where you got the parts from.
Lenovo likes users to install their version of a part, especially WLAN cards.

Model Number 20351, the part that came with the machine is the qualcomm atheros ar956x. Yes, I am on windows 10. I got the new parts from 3rd party stores online as I am not in the US at the time. One from Amazon and one from Aliexpress. I just want a wireless AC card that works in this model

The 2 new parts appear not to be Genuine Lenovo parts. You would have to check with your two 3rd party sellers.
If you can disclose your location, maybe a forum user with a AR956X in your current area can assist.
Whilst in the US,were you on win 8/8.1 or win 10? Which version of win 10 are you on? I would not rule out a issue with Microsoft software.

Aliexpress is showing TWO 04x6023 items(sneaky).
Download each picture. Compare those funny numbers.
I would avoid ordering NFA335 item from this vendor. Not Official Lenovo part.
The official part can be found here (out of stock).
(Below. No longer available picture shows 04x6023. Again compare the funny numbers).
You may have to call Encompass direct for sub parts availability.
The part that came with your machine, 20200558, is Liteon,NFA 335,
contains a Qualcom AR956X. = 04X6022.

You will need to purchase a "Lenovo" branded adapter, not a generic or 3rd party part. Also - if the part is branded for a different manufacture it will not work in your notebook.
This is due to the "whitelist" of accepted parts in BIOS. If the BIOS / Hardware ID string is not in the list or carrires a different branding other than Lenovo it will be rejected.
I would adivse downloading your Maintenance Manaual and look for an AC wireless adapter in the parts listing twords the back of the manual.

I got the same message("Unauthorized wireless card, please power off and unplug")
after installing Intell Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265, WLAN adapter(see picture)
This adapter is listed in the HMM(WLAN, Intel 7265 2x2AC+BT PCIE M.2 WLAN) so I thought it would be no problem.
Thanks for your help.
