Lenovo g500s is crashing randomly

2019-12-02, 13:44 PM

I have been using Lenovo g500s from last 3 years. From last 8-9 months I am using windows 10 64 bit on it. But from last few days it crashes randomly. Laptop doesn't give any warning message and suddenly shuts down. Now it's not turning on with power button. But when I start it from boot menu it starts but gets shutdown any time. Please help to find out the actual problem. Will it be caused by hardware or software problem. What should I do.

Hi prashantc,

Thanks for reaching out.

I recommend trying to use the Novo button to power the machine on. You can use this link to learn more about the Novo button (page 5).

If this does not work I recommend trying a different charger on the machine, if that does not help it is possible that the machine may be experiencing hardware issues. If this is the case I recommend contacting one of the authorized service providers by using this link.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Thanks jack,

I have tried to start it up with power button then it is not starting. But when I use the Novo button as u said it goes to bios menu and when I get to windows it starts but automatically gets shut down or turns off randomly at any time.

hi prashantc,

Thanks for writing back.

Kindly try launching the machine in Safe mode to check if the same issues are still happening.

I'll wait for your update.

Hi prashantc,

Thanks for writing back.

If the machine continues to have issues even while trying to reinstall the OS it is possible that the machine may have hardware issues.

Kindly  use this link to find an authorized service center near your area.
