Lenovo g510 i5 keyboard problem

2015-09-28, 15:01 PM

Hi! can anybody please help me? my keyboard keys are all working but when I hold on to the shift key these letters wont work "tyasdfjkl" but it works when I use capslock. I've tried turning off the function key shortcut from the bios but the problem was reversed. the shift key works with those keys(tyasdfjkl) but not with the other letters. I have updated all the drivers and the bios. I am currently using windows 10. I have tried using keyboard tester online. it shows that some keys wont work when the shift key is pressed and hold.

still not working. if I hold shift key and press a letter, it wont type a letter. but if I hold the shift key and the letter I want to capitilize, then release the shift key first. It will type a capitalized letter.

btw, my keyboard is english/arabic. I have tried microsoft keyboard layout creator. but still it wont help me.

Hi,

Does using Left or right shift makes any difference?

Hi

Can you try running an onscreen keyboard.

Press Windows key + R to open run command

type in OSK  and hit enter.

Once OSK is up

Click on the shift, it will highlight that indicates it is holding it, Now Click on the letter that will not work with Shift held down and see if it is the same problem.

Regards

Hi,

Then it means this is a hardware problem, nothing more in settings that can help.

You can try checking with Hardware team on what service type you can have.
