Re: Lenovo g585 stuck on splash screen

Hi Erdit7777,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

We need to isolate the issue from a non booting to a No-POST issue. One can be entirely be a big mess than the other. After turning off the machine and removing the battery, take off the harddrive and power back on using the Novo button.

Choose BIOS set up and see if you can easily move through the tabs. This can be a good indication of a healthy POST and issue may be left on the harddrive or the boot software on it.

Here you can have the opportunity to slave the machine on another one to run hardware test and perhaps get your data from it.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Lenovo g585 stuck on splash screen

Hi Erdit7777,

Would you be able to move through the tabs all the way to the exit tab using the arrow keys?

POST is power on self test. It is a state which indicates that the laptop on its machine level is able to receive, send and process. On this state, you do not need the harddrive or booting to Windows.

A No-POST machine is a not so good status as it may involve the essential parts like systemboard which I usually advise that should be taken to a service center if you already tried air-can blowing the fans and vents and likewise swapped the memory.

Regards

Re: Lenovo g585 stuck on splash screen

Hi Erdit7777,

From what you have described, Windows and harddrive seems not as the problem but more on the other hardwares. In this instance, I usually start cleaning out the fans and re applying thermal paste which are usually done in service centers.

It may be any heating chip on the board so further board level testing can be done although costing can be expensive and they may eventually suggest board replacement. For now perhaps allow it to cool down a bit before trying to boot again and backup your files.
