I've been looking at a memory upgrade for my Laptop, I recently upgraded from the A4-6210/R3 to the A6-6310/R4 via motherboard transplant and now I want to upgrade my 8GB DDR3L 1600mhz Ram to 1866mhz if it supports it. According to http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Puma/AMD-A6-Series%20A6-6310.html The A6 supports 1866 but I don't want to spend over $100 on 2x8GB sticks for nothing.
1600mhz I am looking at it I can't get 1866.
1866mhz I want to buy.

Hi Remiix ,
If you have upgraded the systemboard with OEM A6-6310/R4 as per this review :
Lenovo only combines the APU with a 4 GB module in the DDR3-1600 standard. It would theoretically be possible to use a speedier DDR3-1866 memory
On a reported post : G50-45 ram upgrade to 1866mhz, still showing 1600mhz on a 80E30181US AMD A8-6410
Similarly , offered RAM upgrades only shows 1600 standard from the hardware manual (item12 page 80). Other advice on said upgrade saying minimal performance difference as chipset itself supports both but BIOS recognition may limit actual speed to 1600.
Hope this helps you decide on what would works best for you .
