Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller Win8.1

2017-04-04, 17:35 PM

How can I reload the Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller? Something went haywire with my G780...it didn't recognize an SD card in the slot, and the same for a SATA drive via USB.

Then, after I tried to find/load a new driver, I made the unfortunate mistake of deleting the problem driver (it was marked YELLOW) thinking it would reappear cleanly when I rebooted.

Not so.

Help!

Re: Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller Win8.1

I didn't want to use the commercial driver program, so tried to use the Win8.1 64 bit. But when unzipped, i had no way to install it as I'd deleted MSSC from my Device Manager.

Anyhow, I was finally able to format the 128GB SD card in exFAT (whatever that is) and then finally in NTFS (whatever that is...I think it's preferred).

Not sure if that will hold, but I think I'm good for now. But did MSSC originally come with the 780?

So thanks for the quick help!
