Re: My lenovo ideapad G570 some keys are not working

hi vickydy,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First make sure this is a hardware concern.

Run an Onscreen Keyboard, by Pressing (Windows key + R) then type in OSK then hit enter

Now on your onscreen Keyboard click on the keys that are not working see if they responding with the Onscreen keyboard.

If the keys responded using the Onscreen Keyboard, Then your Keyboard hardware is bad.

Either you call Technical Support to have them repair the unit in / out of warranty repair OR Ask them where to get the part for it and have the keyboard replaced.

Hope this helps

Cheers!

hi

Reseating the Connections may help or cleaning the keyboard it self.

Re: My lenovo ideapad G570 some keys are not working

Hello, I've just discovered the same issue with my laptop which is the same model.

However, I tried the keys on the on screen keyboard an they still don't work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software for the keyboard but no success. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue?!?

Any ideas on a fix anyone?

Re: My lenovo ideapad G570 some keys are not working

Welcome to the Lenovo Community Hydraunits !

Have you tried a USB keyboard to see if the problem remains with an external keyboard?

If the USB keyboard is working without any issues then try a static discharge of the laptop which can be useful in resolving hardware conflicts.  Just do this....

1. Shut down Windows and unplug the charger / adapter.
2. Remove the battery. (If removable)
3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds.
4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the  problem was resolved.

If that didn't resolve the problem then the issue is most likely directly related to the hardware.  First, try reseating the keyboard cable to insure that it is making a good connection.  If that doesn't resolve the issue then I would replace the keyboard.  Your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual will explain how to access the keyboard for the above procedures.  Here is a link to that manual....

Re: My lenovo ideapad G570 some keys are not working

exact same problem

n b and space bar stopped working

tried pressing ctrl numlock and that fixed it for a while

then problem came back

seems intermittant and software related

pressing the b key many times seemed to fix it for a while too

it is working now but anticipate problem will reoccur it has only been happening over tha last day and it is always only the b n and space keys (do not know about the arrow keys since never use them)
