No "N" technology or 5GHz in my wifi

Hello guys

I have G7050 Lenovo with Realtek RTL8723BE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

But in the device setting in the Advanced setting "Wireless mode" there only b or b/g

I can't see 5GHz networks

Tried to install the newest driver update but same problem

Thank you

Re: No "N" technology or 5GHz in my wifi

hi therealabdo,

Welcome to the Forums.

From this wikidevi page, the Realtek RTL8723BE is a b/g/n 1x1:1 (one transmit and receive radio chains).

If the Wireless Mode under WiFi properties is set to Auto, this means that card will use the fastest connection possible first, which is 802.11n.

    - Sample image

In addition, a b/g/n wireless card will not be able to detect a 5Ghz wireless access point as these type of cards can only detect and connect to a 2.4Ghz band.

Regards

Re: No "N" technology or 5GHz in my wifi

While i can not see 5 GHz networks i did significantly improve the performance of the 2.4 band by changing a setting on the adapter.

Advanced, WiFi Config field. Change default of Performance to Wi-Fi. My download went from 6.x to 36.x.

Sure wish i could get the Realtek to see 5 GHz.
