No sound on a G500s

I recently tried to transfer files from this laptop to a new laptop, using soft ware purchased that came with an ethernet cable. Software support pulled a bait and switch and tried to charge me XXX$ to remove adware, spyware, etc. before they would transfer. When I rebooted, the dreaded blue screen came on and I tried task manager, removing battery, etc. Finally got  it to restart, but, it displayed an error message saying I would have to rest to factory mode. Rest laptop and it restarted with Windows 10 which was on before, but, it displayedatwo page list of apps, updates, plug-ins etc., that had been removed. The laptop is fairly functional, but, there is no sound. I checked the device manager and evry place else that I could think of that had anything to do with sound and all drivers and apps were functioning properly. Dont know what to try..help!
