Old hard drive crashed

2012-04-03, 16:40 PM

I have a Lenovo B575 laptop and my hard drive crashed yesterday so I went out and bought a new one.

But, the B575 has that one key recovery thing so there is no recovery disks for it, I'm just wondering as how I'm supposed to go about putting a new OS on the hard drive?

First, you should not double post

Did you not make recovery disks?
That is one of the first things to do on modern laptops.

You can contact Lenovo and see if recovery disks are
available for purchase for your model.

Or download the iso for your version of Win 7 here:

http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-links/

You will need to install drivers manually, and activate using
the Win 7 code on the bottom of laptop. (May be in battery bay).

If activation fails, follow instructions to activate by phone.

Sorry for the double post..

Would I install all the drivers from the drivers and software page?

Yes, but look through the ones marked Other and Software,

you may or may not need. (Fingerprint reader, etc.)

Make sure to get the right ones for Win 7 (Usually the Top ones

when you click "Click for Files").

MY suggested order of install: (Is not official)

Storage Management

Video

Audio

Ethernet

Wlan

Touchpad

Bluetooth

Card Reader

Camera

Power Management

Others

Software

And no need to apoligize to ME about double post!

Hi! My brother has this computer and I'm amazed at the problems that he's having. He loves the computer but the hard drive crashed (I think it was that). I am having such a hard time getting ahold of the company to purchase the back-up discs.  I actually DID create a backup recovery (twice) and neither one will load. I'm going to purchase a new hard drive for it but am worried that the computer with the new hard drive will be reading some corrupt files. Do you still have your copies?
