Question

I have Lenovo G460 which has problem with charging when I plug in power cable to laptop then Power managment shows that Plug in not charging  sometime battery is charged 100% but sometimes  its stuck on 80% and shows Plug in not charging  and does  not increase  to 100% and sometime its stuck also on 60% how do I  solve this issue?

Answer

Charging % start and stop points can be controlled through the power management software.  This is a feature can help prolong battery life by reducing unecessary charging of the battery.

To check / update these settings:

 1. Click the "Settings" button. 1.JPG

2. Check "Optimize For Battery Runtime" under "Battery Health" and the problem will be resolved.

Optimize For Battery Runtime" is to protect the battery and extend the lifespan of the battery. Because the lifespan of one battery is related to its charging circle, the power charging will automatically cut off to protect the battery when the power reaches to a certain amount.

If the issue persists, try reinstalling the power mangement software

Uninstall Lenovo energy management re-fix the battery then charge the battery completely then restart the laptop and install Lenovo energy management software again.

I had bought Lenovo G500s laptop last year in Jan.It was working fine till now.

Problem is whenever I start playing games(fifa) on my laptop, charging light starts blinking red while still on charging.Does this mean there is some problem with the battery because it works fine normally but as soon as I do something that requires lot of CPU usage(load) it stops charging, battery status showing "Plugged in, not Charging".
Checking on the internet and reading on the lenovo forum,I am putting some points
1.Should i I use my laptop in HIGH PERFORMANCE mode
2.Has it something to do with the Nvidia GPU because i tried to run the game on intel integrated graphics it was lagging but charging didn't stop
3.Is it due to internal heating of laptop that battery tries to save itself by not charging(shall i use a cooling pad if that is the problem)
I am providing the specs of my laptop:
Processor:Intel(R) Core (TM) i3-3120M CPU@2.50GHz
Nvidia GeForce 720M
Ram:4GB
Windows 8.1 64 bit
Product ID:00179-40399-85162-AAOEM
Please reply ASAP!!

I have a Lenovo G40-80 laptop and my laptop was telling me that it was plugged in but not charging. I have Software that is ONE KEY Optimizer. Whe I click on it, I can have it check the battery. It has a tab for Battery saver option which I clicked to the off position.. Apparetly part of the battery saver feature is that it only allows the battery to stay at 60% charged to increase battery life. once I clicked that feature to the off postion it then allowed the battery to charge to 100%.
