Re: Pressing FN keys randomly changes FN pictures showing on screen

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

What Lenovo model you own?

It looks in the images that you are pressing a key combination that brings up the speaker volume and muted speaker function. I assume that you want to perform a function like that without the need to press two keys at the same time?  Depending on what Lenovo model you own, there is a setting in the BIOS Setup that changes the use of the Function key from pressing FN + F key to just pressing the F key.   Please check your BIOS Setup for that setting.

Re: Pressing FN keys randomly changes FN pictures showing on screen

Hi, Sorry for the late reply,

My Laptop is Lenovo G40. My problem is that there are 2 kinds/type of interface showing sometimes its different and the next day its different again. Im not talking about mute or volume up/down. What Im trying to say is that sometimes the icon/picture is white one next time its the orange one. I think i have 2 different version installed on my unit. look at the pic the drawing is different.  The interface picture is randomly changing all the time.

Thanks

Re: Pressing FN keys randomly changes FN pictures showing on screen

What is your full model number?   Example: G40-70

And what operating system you have installed?

Depending on the model and operating system, some Lenovo models use a application like Lenovo Utility to control On Screen Displays.  I am thinking if your system is using such an application that it needs to be un-installed, reboot and then re-installed to correct any issues.

Re: Pressing FN keys randomly changes FN pictures showing on screen

I don't see any Lenovo Utility available for the G40-70.  Quite possible the on screen display is part of the Power Management driver for your system.  I would try re-installing the appropriate driver for your operating system.
