Recently the laptop would not start up. It is a G50-45 Model 80E3. It has power and certain lights would come on, the screen would not show anythig but seemed to get power since it had a slight white or grey background to it. The machine would then flash a light next to the webcam and looked like it was trying to restart since it woudl go throgh the whole process again lasting about 25 seconds. with the cover off i noticed the fan starting and runnign until it tried to start again.
I have tried taking out the battery and then pressing the power button for 20 seconds to drain any residual power but no luck powering it back on either with or without the battery installed . I took off the cover and noticed that when the machine tries to start the fan does come on, the HDD spins.
I reseated the components such as the memory and the hard drive with no luck. I removed the memory and started the laptop and the POST test revelaed by beeping that it did not have any memory present. I reseated the memeroy and the same thing that I described earlier happened.
Before I purchase a new laptop is there anything else to try? Thank you.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Have you attempted to use an alternative charger at all?
It may be able to help.
See if you are able to use the NOVO button at all to start up the unit.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo!
