Hi smileshs ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
BIOS password reset can only be done by sending it to the Lenovo depot facility .
Such security is encoded on the BIOS and you may have to get your brother to remember it.
** Edited note : just got confirmation for similar case as per BIOS password issue , entire motherboard would be replaced rather than reset . Passwords are highly confidential security and is outside any warranty aggreement.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community smileshs !
Unfortunately clearing a BIOS password on a laptop isn't as easy as it is on a desktop model. This is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen. There is no master password or magic back door which can be used to reset a forgotten or unknown BIOS password on a laptop. Your only solution, if your brother can not remember the password, is to have the motherboard replaced.
Also be advised that continued discussion on additional ways to circumvent the BIOS passwords are prohibited by Forum Rules. Again, this restriction is due to the ease in which they can be stolen. Sorry!

Sorry, but I am not going to debate the issue of Lenovo's policy in regards to passwords.
