Re: CPU Upgrade G700

Hi romanoman,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Listed CPU here on your hardware manual page 72 item 10.

Take your time to review your options.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: upgrading cpu & ram - lenovo g700

hi

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

The G700 has two different Motherboard types

HM70 and HM76

Since your Motherboard type is HM70 I'm afraid that the i3's won't be compatible. for HM70 compatible CPU.

About the RAM Upgrade, This model support 16GB /Two modules

Check here for reference

Solid Cruver

so, there is the answer ?

Re: CPU Upgrade G700

Hi romanoman

Greetings.

Good that you were able to review the options as it was noted from the manual referenced by Solid Cruver from this post.

With the informations we now have (current CPU: Intel Pentium 2020M , chipset: HM70) can say that the best upgrade to go is with an Intel Pentium 2030M supported by Intel HM70 Express chipset.

An  i5 3230m was tried by fellow member and would shutdown after a few minutes as reported here.

Upgrading may not be a good boost in performance so it may be better to upgrade other parts instead like a solid state drive which can also be used on maybe a new pc in the future.

Regards
