Replacing the Combo Jack in Lenovo G400

My Lenovo G400 laptop does not recognize any device connected to the combo jack. It used to work but somehow it stopped working. I have tried updating and reinstalling the drivers but no luck so far. So maybe the problem is caused by faulty hardware. Is it possible for the combo jack to be replaced?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Replacing the Combo Jack in Lenovo G400

Hi data4pass,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking on the systemboard, it does shows that the combo audio port is soldered on it. DIY projects of desoldering by trained tech may be an option otherwise replacement of the entireboard.

Another option is maybe to use an uxternal USB to audio jack adapter as alternate.

I hope this helps answer your query.
