Revert back to previous BIOS or change displeasing BIOS splash screen

I made a clean installation and downloaded necessary drivers from Lenovo's support site.

It has been a long time since I have had this laptop, so I decided to update the BIOS as well.

The updated BIOS version is B0CNA0WW. I'm uncertain of my previous version, most likely the version that the laptop was shipped with, as this is the first time I updated my BIOS.

Is it possible to revert to previous BIOS version without any further problems?

And if not, how can I get rid of the utterly displeasing BIOS splash in the boot? Or maybe change the splash image?

I would leave your current BIOS alone.

Maybe another user can help in the BIOS screen change.

Note: Bios is unsigned, you may get a warning message during download.

Re: Revert back to previous BIOS or change displeasing BIOS splash screen

Thanks for the reply!

I've been using it for a few hours now. I've installed multiple programs, and it's working just fine so far.

I have yet to install my steam games, will know better once I get on some game, hopefully it goes well.

But I still want to change that boot screen splash.

Re: Revert back to previous BIOS or change displeasing BIOS splash screen

I updated my BIOS to B0CNA0WW and it has got a very displeasing boot screen logo.

Is there a way to change it without messing or harming my system?

Re: Revert back to previous BIOS or change displeasing BIOS splash screen

The splash screen is part of the BIOS file, and as such is not able to be changed without modifying the BIOS file itself.

Lenovo does not support, or authorize BIOS modifications, nor allow threads supporting BIOS modifications.

If you seek third party assistance to obtain and use a modified BIOS your warranty and support options will be canceled by Lenovo.

BIOS branding and splash screens are present on all manufacture's machines, and none are easily removed unless the BIOS shows and option to disable the splash screen (not show it) at start up.

Re: Revert back to previous BIOS or change displeasing BIOS splash screen

Fair enough. I just wanted to know if it was possible without tweaking too much.

I don't wish to rely on third-party tools for something like this.

Thank you for the answer!

Re: Revert back to previous BIOS or change displeasing BIOS splash screen

You would be amazed at just how many people actually try to modify BIOS files, usually turning their computers into brick door stops.
