Most notebooks that have SATA hard disk drives will also have SATA CD / DVD drives. If you are thinking about removing the CD/DVD drive to add an additional hard disk drive, there may be other restrictions imposed by the CD / DVD drive controller.
A CD/DVD drive uses a different set of control / commands then a Hard Disk drive, and some controller chips will not work with hard drives.
Also - the HDD Docks that are online mostly fail to work and lack documentation for installing them correctly as well.
Better to just get a USB drive and use it to expand your storage. It can also serve as a good way to back up your system.
