Serious B50-30 problems

Hello! So after nearly a year with this new laptop of mine sitting collecting dust I've resorted to this site.

Where to begin with the problems...

Firstly, I bought it back last Christmas. First problem was it'd never connect to the internet.

I then discovered it restarts every 10minutes with that annoying sad face emoticon and various different error messages. Dealing with that using a thing called patience I tried to download a program, it restarts before I can do it or the program never loads up.

I was very frustrated, but unfortunately very busy so I had to just put it to one side and use my 2006 model dell laptop, poor thing os barely working, yet still way better than this one.

I managed to use the laptop for writing with, saving it every five minutes for when it restarts.

Now I've started it up hoping to write something and it restarts sometimes before I can log on, and it also won't connect to the internet, even though my internet is perfectly fine and no, I do not have airplane mode on.

Of course the damage I done and I now have a firm distrust in this company, but I would like my crappy writing laptop that restarts every ten minutes back , any suggestions?

Re: Serious B50-30 problems

Hi Breyerwulf ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The way the symptoms shows up definitely I would suggest that you backup all needed file and give technical support a call while you have a warranty covering it as this may not be a software issue.

To isolate , access the BIOS and see if the machine would restart afeter 5 minutes.

Check how long it can stay there (maybe 20-30 minutes).

To go to the BIOS , turn off the laptop. Power on using the Novo Button (item3 page 66).

Choose BIOS set up from the Novo Menu.

If a corrupted Windows or driver is causing this a complete factory reset can restore back the original image using One Key Recovery (page23) as this would delete everything and reimage the laptop anew.

Update us how it goes with the BIOS.
