Touchpad driver not working

2020-10-17, 9:36 AM

I am having a problem with installing the touchpad driver to my Lenovo g50

Before this I installed win 10 and it was too slow so I reinstalled win 7.

Than I had a problem with the touchpad two-finger scrolling. It worked before.

I downloaded the driver that has ELAN and Synapse in it, but the setup.exe does nothing.

(I tried dowloading synapse from anither source and the feature still does not work and I even got blue screen twice)

Can someone help me?

Hi omaalley34male,

For the touchpad related issue, follow the steps below.

Try to check on the support site, enter the machine serial number to load correct drivers, go to Drivers and Software tab, click Manual Update, proceed to download the drivers.

Perform BIOS defaults:

1. Perform power cycle: shutdown the machine, disconnect all external/peripheral devices (external mouse, keyboard, flashdrives, etc.), press and hold down the power button for 30-45 seconds to drain flea power.
2. Access the Novo button (a tiny pinhole with a U-turn arrow icon next to it) to turn on the device, the Novo menu will be shown in the screen.
3. Navigate using the arrow keys to select the EXIT menu.
4. Select Load Setup Default - click Enter, select YES and click Enter.
5. Select Exit and Save Changes then click Enter, select YES and click Enter. Your computer will start up.

Update us how it goes.

Regards.

Did you install the driver from Lenovo Support site? I had once accidentally switched it off, with the function keys but fixed it with the device manager.
