I newly purchased Kingston DT101 8 GB thumbdrive which failed to be detected by my G580 notebook running on Windows 7 Ultimate. However the Kingston works in my desktop PC also with Windows 7.
My SCandisk thumbdrive worked in my G580 without any issues.
How do I get this resolved?
If you hear a sound that a device has been plugged-in but the USB device is not being detected under Computer, you can try to:
1. Insert the USB device to a USB 2.0 port or USB 3.0 port.
2. Open Device Manager (click start > type Device Manager) > Network Adapters > Unisersal Serial Bus Controllers and uninstall all USB Root Hub and reboot the PC. When the computer reboots, repeatedly tap F2 to boot into the BIOS. When you're in, press F9 to reset the BIOS to defaults and press F10 to save and exit.
After the reboot, all USB controllers should be refreshed. Try to insert the USB flashdrive again.
off the computer
then press the small button next to the on button(nova button)
get into the bios settings
find mode
turn uffi mode to legacy mode
save it and exit
insert the usb then off your tablet
press the nova button
get into the boot menu
find your usb!
