Unable to adjust brightness- G50-45 80E300GYIN

I recently purchased G50-45 series 80e300gyin notebook with AMD A8 processor and dos based. Installed windows 8 and updated to windows 8.1. Also installed (Beema) AMD Driver (VGA, HDAudio, SATA) for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) drivers but still I am unable to adjust the screen brightness, by default it is at full. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Re: Unable to adjust brightness- G50-45 80E300GYIN

hi nikunjpadhiar,

Welcome to the Forums.

When you installed the (Beema) AMD Driver, did you remove any previous traces of the AMD Display driver?

If not, can you try the following:

1. Navigate to the Control Panel (Icon Views) > Programs and Features and uninstall anything that relates to AMD Display Driver / AMD Control Center.and reboot. When finished, navigate to the Device Manager > Display Adapters and the driver should show a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

2. Install the (Beema) AMD Driver (VGA, HDAudio, SATA) for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and reboot. When done, the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter from the Device Manager should now change to an AMD Radeon Display and check if you can now adjust the brgithness.

Re: Unable to adjust brightness- G50-45 80E300GYIN

Welcome to the Lenovo Community shlokj !

What Lenovo model you have?

What is the operating system?

Have you also check to see if there is a Lenovo Utility driver available for your model and operating system?  On some models the Lenovo Utility driver adds the ability to use Hot Keys for screen brightness.
