WIFI Issues G780 Since Windows 10

I have a G780 laptop - ever since upgrade windows 10 wifi keeps dropping.

Use troubleshooter - says no default gateway - fixed....

Or something about missing protocols - I see no updates to my driver Broadcom - anything I can do?

To late to go back to Windows 7  Dave

Re: WIFI Issues G780 Since Windows 10

Welcome to the Forums David.

When you connected to the Wi-Fi network, do you get 4-5 signal bars?

- if you don't and just get 1-2 bars  the wifi signal maybe weak and you need to get near the wifi router.

- If you get full bars and wifi is still slow, your problem might be similar to this thread.

What you can try is to:

  1. Uncheck "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" under the wireless card properties on the Device Manager (see this thread)
  2. When using WiFi, turn off the Bluetooth to prevent connection loss
  3. If same problem, try to reseat the Wi-Fi cable connectors - see page 39 of the hardware maintenance manual.

Update us how it goes.

Re: WIFI Issues G780 Since Windows 10

Well the router is right next to me.  Tried that

I have the power set like you said (unchecked) before the issue began.

I truly believe that this internal modem is not compatilble with Windows 10.

So - I bought a USB WIFI to try out.  I am open to any more suggestions but I just can't think of why

else it does this.  My Acer laptop and Samsung tablet work fine.

Yes. You are right. The Lenovo G780 is not very much compatible with windows 10. Please go through this link to know about compatibility details. I would suggest you to roll back to windows 8.1 & check if this same issue persist.

Re: WIFI Issues G780 Since Windows 10

Well, I did find a driver I think may have fixed the problem - http://www.driverscape.com/download/broadcom-802.11n-network-adapter    - BUT - I bought a USB wireless

Motoraux 600Mbps Dual Band wireless USB wifi adapter,For Device of Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 (32/64bits) MAC OS X 10.11.X / 10.10.X / 10.9.X / 10.8.X /10.7.X (WiFi adapter)

Only $23.00 and works with windows 10 and easy to install..  so thanks for help - Lenovo should get there together and offer link to update peoples adapter ,  not have us have to scramble and look and fix it ourselves
