After the system rebooted from updating, I initiated a disk clean up for the system files. But the deleting took so long I decided to connect my laptop to an hdmi and watched a movie while waiting. But the deleting hasn't completed yet even after I'm done watching so I disconnect the hdmi and left the laptop for a while. The dispay had timed out when I return so I double tapped the touchpad and when the screen turn live again a white horizontal line is in the screen, it looked like connecting lines when you dragged your cursor on you desktop. Line still appears in BIOS but is fine when connected on hdmi. Any solutions for this problem? Thank you in advance for answering.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Having the same line on the BIOS isolates the issue with the LCD / LCD assemblies /cables as possible point of failure. This separate any relation to Windows and drivers as it shows ok using another display output monitor.
You can try cooling it off for 2 hours removing the battery and pressing the power button for 12 seconds to drain flea power. Check back on the machine in the BIOS and if you still have the same lines maybe reseating the LCD cables can be done securing it to its connectors and lines not being stretched/ free from strain.
Here is also the hardware manual for review if you have the tools and skills but best to have a service center do it for you if needed.
I hope this helps answer your query.

Just to set expectations, seing the same lines in the BIOS may indicate hardware issue so best to have any local service tech check on the LCD and cables for isolation.
