Hello, I have a Lenovo G500 and I want to know if I can run Windows 10 without official drivers from Lenovo. I want that laptop to rulele the maximum performance that until now has been on Windows 8.1. If anyone has Windows 10 for G500 and I can help i'd be grateful.

Have you noticed the Windows Upgrade notification in the system tray? If not - pull in the latest updates for Windows and it should show up.

They say here that Win 10 is not supported for the G500 but I have mine running Win 10. The only problem I have is a popup on booting about the dolby sound is not working but the sound is louder than it was with Win 8.1 so I just "X" the message out and use the computer. If you have trouble try the Windows 8.1 drivers. I have not found another problem yet but I will keep my windows.old folders just in case.
I do not even know what the Dolby sound will do for a G500 laptop.

I installed "clean" the Win 10 on my G500. Fully functionable! No unknown hardware! I have only one problem: my fully legal win 8 Pro license not working with win 10 Pro. But Lenovo wroted: Not supported. Why? The update with media creation tool not started. This tool have an error message: This Computer not compatibIe with win 10.
P.s: sorry for my english..

I have updated my Lenovo G500s to windows 10. Now when I boot the hard drive is at 100% and I cannot see or use the DVD drive. Not getting any help either anywhere. Will check bios and repost if it is visible there.

I have Lenovo G500 Upgraded to Windows 10. There is actually a problem of overheating. It works better but you have disable some applications to make it faster. The dolby audio says reinstall it but it works. actually you have to goto te control panel. Select hardware and sound. Click on Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio. Actually Doly Works on Windows 10
