Windows Update Error 0x80070003 windows 7

2016-06-24, 17:35 PM

Good day,

windows update is unable to connect to the net. I use windows update diagnostic and I received the message of error "windows update-error 0x80070003". I tried everything without result, after consulting forums and microsoft official pages.

To be honest, before the error was 0x80080005. I tried all possible stuff, without result. So I re-installed windows 7. And now I received this notification. What can I do?

Thanks for your help.

Best,

Hi,

Sorry you are having so much trouble with this.  I get the same thing until updates start to install, but cpu usage is always high when WU is running.

Try installing this it might address your issue and don't run WU, let it run on its own.

Hi,

You might have to download and install the new update for Windows update if you haven't already did it.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3050265

You should also download and install NET Framework 4.6 if you haven't.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48130

See if it works after that.

Regards,

Dave

I don't like to advise setting Windows Update to install automatically, but you might have to go into the advanced settings in Windows Update and do just that.

Don't run Windows Update manually, let the laptop alone for a day and see if any updates show up.

I have had the same problem as you sometimes, Windows Update not finding any updates to install.

I realize your problem is a little different, but setting Windows Update to install automatically might fix it.

First of all. Thanks for your reply. I have set Windows Update in such a way to download automatically the udpates, but after a while, Windows Update stops its search and I must restart it manually.

The biggest problem is that svchost.exe is consuming a great amount of cpu and there is no way to fix the problem. I red that after an updating svchost.exe can be suspended.

Thanks and best,

Hi. There is nothing to do. I select to downloads updates automatically, but the program after a while stops. I re-tried to use fix-it; during its working, such a message appear. It means "file not found or not  privileges to open it". I am unable to start fix-it as administrator.

Secondly, how can I spare cpu? wuauserv consumes so much cpu, that the os sometimes freezes (and I have 16gb Ram).

Thanks and best,

Re: Windows Update Error 0x80070003 windows 7

Hi. I solved my problem starting from terminal appidsvc and running automatically the background intelligent transfer service, once launched service.msc. As a matter of fact, bits was not running. After this move, my pc downloaded more than 1gb of updates and now it downloads updates automatically.

Thanks.

Best,
