audio driver uninstallation G560

2010-11-29, 0:14 AM

Hi,

I've got G560, win7 32-bit;

Intel Onboard Graphics Driver is installed, which also includes the audio driver.

I want to uninstall only the audio driver part (have tried via device manager, uninstalled High Definition Audio Device and Intel Display Audio, but after the reboot windows installs them again (seems like that), so they are active just after the reboot).

Uninstalling the whole Intel Onboard Graphics Driver solved the problem, but in this case I have no video driver left, as NVIDIA Display Driver detects an error (something like "Nvidia didn't found the device" ) (have no idea why Nvidia should work with no nvidia graphic board)

These two drivers are the only 2 that should suits my system (as lenovo support & download says).

The question would be how to disable windows to automatically install the audio driver after the reboot after the driver has been uninstalled.

I want to completely get rid of it, not only to disable the audio driver via the device manager.

Thanks,

Alex

while installation, system files has been copied to windows system32 folder, that's why even if you un-install the drivers, on next start-up, it starts to install drivers automatically.

you can try to un-install drivers on safe mode ( when you see lenovo start-up logo, press f8 )

also, your graphic card has also sound output for vga/hdmi ports, that's why nvidia is trying to install sound drivers or can't find it.

why do you need to un-install sound drivers anyway?

Thanks for your reply, will try to uninstall it on safe mode;

I want to install an external steelseries sound card. I have heard that internal sound card may conflict/ not support something and it may be the source of  fps drop in my loved cs (:

I have also heard what it is possible to disable the internal sound card in BIOS, but there is Insyde H2o on my system, and I have not found anything in it, completely different from the "regular blue screen" on the previous desktop (don't know what version of BIOS it was).

Regards,

Alex

you can disable sound devices via control panel > hardware and sound > manage audio device > on playback tab select device > right click and disable

I have uninstalled the sound devices via device manager whilst booted in safe mode, but the drivers were automatically reinstalled just after the laptop restart.

I was wondering whether it is possible to not allow windows to do it ?

And is the audio device disabling in device manager just the same as it would be done via BIOS ?

 Regards,

Alex

right click on computer > manage > device manager > select the device you want to un-install and make sure you check "delete the driver software for this device"

you can try to disable audio via bios.

I have already tried your suggested method, but as I said, it reinstalls the drivers after the reboot.

Could you explain how to disable the driver via Insyde h2o BIOS, as there are no "integrated peripherals" (or smth like that) submenu in it.

Regards,

Alex

I've got Home Premium W7, therefore it does not have gpedit.msc;

Thanks for helping, and I would really appreciate any other ideas
