bios reseting

2013-10-08, 7:46 AM

I have G430 ., I want to reset my bios.. coz I have a problem like this," No lcd,fan ON for 10 sec, Power led on,no beep code". and I knew that it's phoenix bios. I planned to try Boot block recovery or Bios recovery.

But the real problem is dismantling the laptop to access CMOS battery and to locate it. can anybody help me with this???also to download bios update and reseting it??

This problem happened when I removed battery when it was ON .coz it was not going(loading) beyond 'lenovo' display . then i tried switch it OFF by pressing power botton . I couldn't. Then I removed battery. now' No lcd,fan ON for 10 sec, Power led on,no beep code"

Hi Vijendar,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I’m sorry to hear that your G430 Laptop is not booting to Windows and a stuck at a black screen, below are the steps to check and resolve the issue:

  1. Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
  2. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
  3. If the issue persists even after performing Flee Power then resetting BIOS to its defaults should resolve the issue.
  4. Now access the BIOS menu in the computer.
  5. Then to reset the BIOS to its defaults click on “F9” Key and select YES.
  6. Now Click on “F10” Key to safe the changes that are done in BIOS, restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists even after performing the above troubleshooting steps, I would Strongly Suggest Calling Technical Support for Assistance. Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I’m sure they will be a great help.

Hope this helps!!!
