booting from usb drive not possible

2021-04-18, 7:44 AM

I have a dell laptop model G50-80 8olo  bios version: B0CN80WW.

The laptop comes with a pre-installed win 10.

I want to boot from usb drive.

I have the changed the boot sequence in BIOS, but when the USB flash-drive is inserted and the laptop is booting I get:

EFI Usb device has been blocked by the current security policy.

How do i get rid of this ?

Yes offcourse , I mean Lenovo. But I figured it out. I had the BIOS set to : EFI. I switched to: Legacy support, and now it boots from flash-drive. Problem solved.

A *Dell* laptop?  G50-80 looks like a Lenovo model, and B0CN80WW is a Lenovo BIOS version.  And this is a Lenovo forum...

In any event, try turning of secure boot in BIOS if that's an option.
