g40 - 70 windows 10 wlan driver issues

I have G40-70 with Windows 10 installed, previously I had Win 8 installed.

I shared connection from my laptop via hosted network and everything went very good until I upgrade Windows 10 and run newest driver for WLAN.

<netsh wlan show drivers> hosted network supported : no

when I'm using win 8 it say hosted network supported : yes

at microsoft virtual adapter it says code : 45

and it cannot be enabled or disabled.

what should I do ? should I back to Win 8 ?

need your help! thanks!

Re: g40 - 70 windows 10 wlan driver issues

hi amaliawira

If you look into the Device Manager > Network Adapters and look into the properties of the Wi-Fi adapter, does it match the Windows 10 driver version from the lenovo support page?

WLAN Driver (Atheros, Realtek, Broadcom, Intel) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook

WLAN Driver (Intel) for Windows 8.1 (64-bit), Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo G40-70, G50-70

If the driver version is different, can you install the above drivers (uninstall and delete the old drivers if necessary) and run netsh wlan show drivers to see if  hosted network support is now set to Yes.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards

Re: g40 - 70 windows 10 wlan driver issues

hi there,

After removing and re-installing the Wi-Fi driver, can you check the Device Manager > Network Adapters and see  if the microsoft virtual adapter is now working properly and can be enabled.

If that doesn't work, can you check this article on how to troubleshoot it further.

In addition, you could also use tools like Connectify to automate the hotspot creation.

Let me know if these steps fixes the issue.

Regards
