g510s bluetooth not detected

2019-02-14, 0:46 AM

I have read thru the posts regarding the G510 but not sure if they have the same hardware therefore not sure if their issue is the same as mine.

I have tried setting bios to default values. installing the latest 2015 drivers from Lenovo and still cannot get any bluetooth to work.

I don't know if it ever worked because I never wanted to use it till now.

This is a new install of Windows 10 version 1809.

By searching my serial number in the parts website it shows my Wlan/Bt adapter was the original equipment but nowhere in windows or the bios does it mention bluetooth, not in Device Mgr.  Even the bluetooth & other device settings do not show an enable/disable for bluetooth. I can and did install the driver and do see 3 bluetooth related services with all set to manual and not running unless I start them. Manual starting does not seem to make any difference.

My serial number is CB******** if you can or will verify if I am supposed to have BT.

Parts shows Liteon WB335 1x1BGN+BT4.0 HMC  as my As-Built adapter.

Moderator note: serial number removed to prevent abuse. Corresponding MT-M is 80CJ59406553

You might want to inspect the actual installed hardware and post back with the WiFi card information that you will find on the card itself.

When I purchased my G580 from Office Depot - the box listed BT, but the machine did not have it installed, was a WiFi N card without BT. Come to find out Office Depot had an employee issue and it had been switched out prior to my purchase.

This looks like a Atheros / Qualcom Wireless N and Blue Tooth card, and if not reporting in the Device Manager it may be lacking files / drivers needed to register it correctly.

If you see any "unknown devices" showing up in the Device Manager - it may be this card not working / loading drivers correctly.

You can try shutting off the computer, removing AC and battery then remove the card and replace power and turn on the computer. If it boots normally, shut it down, remove power and re-install the card.

Good luck.
