I'm using lenovo G580 (12057) laptop, which it fails to turn on at times, after pressing the power button the leds will turn on for enthernet port, cam above the screen, power led and the fan will start running without any picture on the screen tried the use of a second screen but it shows nothing still. If it does turn on and try to run some test it will pass all the tests, I used lenovo companion for testing.
Just need help to identify this problem

Hi Him_Lance ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
What is the original Windows version and the current one?
I would suggest that you back up you data when it manage to show display .
Rollback or reinstall video drivers as initial step or try system restore to date when all is working ok .
Running on safe mode can also help isolate the issue.
Alternatively if it is currently not showing any image , press on caps lock to check if it will respond.
See if booting on a live rescue image works ok.
Update us how it goes.

The original operating sytem was windows 8 and I switched it to runo, legacy support to run both windows 10 and linux. The pc has not turned on for four days now so I tried to romove the ram and the hard drive to see if it will detect that the ram is missing but still there is nothing at all

All the light indicators do turn on, the power and the battery indicator remain turned on as for the web cam and ethernet indicator lights they blink when I turn on the pc then they go off as normal. I don't see anytging strange with the light indicators

It does sound like a loose connection to the LCD screen or worn LCD cable. As indicated, when the screen is working, hook up a second monitor, adjust so the video output is duplicated on both screens then use the notebook as you would normally. When the notebook fails to show on the LCD see if the output shows on the second monitor. If it does not show on either the LCD or external monitor then it may be a system board issue instead of a LCD cable issue.

The only time when the second screen is working is when the laptop screen is also working
OK... This sounds like the system board (hardware) is having issues. If your notebook has an dedicated graphics card (nVidia or AMD/ATI) it might be a "loose socket" issue and need to be removed / re-installed to correct. If you are using Intel HD Graphics, and not a dedicated card, it is probably the main system board showing signs of failure.
Back up your data ASAP, contact Lenovo to discuss warranty status, cost of repairs, if too expensive you may find going with a new notebook will not only be cheaper overall - but also worthy update to hardware and options that may have not been available to the G580 series (touch screen, wireless AC cards, SSD drives and CPU's).
