g580 stuck at "lenovo" boot screen

Just started happening this week.   It's stuck at the boot screen "lenovo".   I tried many different methods like removing battery, holding power button to reset, etc.  The *only* way to get it to boot is the remove memory card, and put it back.  Then it will boot up fine.     It might then boot fine for the rest of the day.  But then the next day (or after being shutdown for a while), it happens again so i have to remove memory card, put it back, etc.

What could be the problem here ?  I tried both memory slots.  So i don't think it's particular to one slot.

Re: g580 stuck at "lenovo" boot screen

Hi there, Lalani           -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

BIOS Utility is entered by holding F2 while the Lenovo logo is displayed after power on.

There could be HDD failure where its not allowing for system to boot, So sometimes, you just need a technician. I would suggest you visit the nearest Lenovo service centres for better assistance. Schedule a Call-back for faster support.

Update us how it goes.
