Re: thermal paste on g50 30

Hi looper1,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

A good review with the manual here and the Lenovo service training module here along with its video reference would greatly help on the project you are planning.

Soon as you remove the heatsink assembly then most likely you would see where you can re apply the thermal paste (CPU and CPU chip) since you need to clean it likewise on the same areas with lint free fabric swabbed with a small amount of 99 % Isopropyl alcohol gently wiping it.

As there are several techniques for placing thermal paste similar to this video, as long as it is not too much or too little then the goal temperature would be the same. You may use the video for an idea of how much is needed.

Using a canned air on the fan would be good to include for the same purpose.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
