Hi. I have a strange problem. I select the option to search updates automatically, but I must start the search manually. Furthermore, windows updates starts but it does not stop more. I used a tool by Microsoft to fix the problem. According to it, my problem was solved. Nevertheless, the situation is the same.
What can I do?
Thanks and best,

Hallo. No anwser? I found that the error is the same as in my previous post:
Unfortunately, in services.msc I am unable to find BITS, although it is correctly installed and its path is correct. I used this suggestion and regedit to change the value of BITS:
I hope that this page could be helpful.
In any case, if I digit "windows update" in the search box, the program is off. Then, I tried to open services.msc in order to restart windows update. According to terminal all is in order, but, once started the resource monitor I see that there is no transfer of data. It is at 0%.
What can I do, please?
Thanks and best,

Did you tell us which laptop and which operating system?
If it's Windows 7 and the main symptom is that it spins on "checking for updates" indefinitely - you can try this:
If it's not Win 7 or the symptom is something else, we'll need more information.

Thanks for the hint. I use windows 7 indeed. I solved my problem installing
[ KB3172605] at the point 4 of this Italian guide:
KB3177467 unfortunately failed to install.
Previously, I followed the guide:
which consisted in installing the latest version of WSUS Offline Update, unpacking the downloaded folder and run update generator. Then, you must select your OS and click start. This program downloads a great amount of software. Once, the downloading is ended, you go in the folder client and run Update Installer which installs the software in issue. At the end, reboot your system and windows update works. For me this long procedure failed, but it can be of help for someone else.
Thanks for all.
