IdeaCenter Strick 300 - Auto on after power failure

2016-01-10, 22:57 PM

Hi All,

I have got the Ideacenter Stick 300, I need it to boot after power failure, is there a way to bypass UEFI to enable that in the bios, or is there a way for us to request this feature from lenovo?

The inability to auto power on after AC power failure makes the Stick 300 unusable as a digital signage solution...or for many other applications for that matter. Such a cool little system. A BIOS/UEFI update that included this ability would be a brilliant solution and incredibly useful. Thanks!

Just noticed that Lenovo enabled "auto power on" option in Setup Utility (BIOS setting).

And the link to the latest BIOS update:

Please Note,

This version (o27kt07a_151105) is not stable. After upgrade, I have to go to Setup Utility and press F9 to reload all deafault settings. Otherwise the hard drive will be locked.

password is "ecs"

Cheers!

@jingking: is that firmware stable after reloading all default settings? Is there anything else wrong with it that you know of?

Cheers,
Chris

It's stable. Everything is perfect so far. (Well, get rid of the fan is the next thing on my wish list)

After you see the Windows 10 desktop, you can go back and change whatever you like in Setup Utility.

Lenovo also updated the download zip file. No need password now.

Cheers!

It seems stable to me too, and the auto on feature seems to work (although I haven't tested it much).

Did you try looking at the Boot settings panel in the BIOS settings? I can't seem to select anything past the first option. I'm particularly intersted in anything that will make it easier to boot Linux.

Cheers,

Chris

The link to download seems like deleted. Can you post link or email me the file?

It would save my life if I can get it.

Thank you.

@ez-8888
Frustrated customer support ...

try this, https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/desktop/o27kt07a_151105.zip

Make sure you have backups before you update.
