Lenovo Ideacentre Stick 300 Sleep // Monitor-off issues

2016-06-01, 15:18 PM

Anyone experience this?  I plan on using this primarily with a printer (no display) and want it to remain on at all times.  I've gone in to try and mess with power settings but it seems I only have a setting for display, so I checked it to make sure it is always on (display).  This seems to keep the stick from falling asleep, which is exactly what I want.

Still messing around with it, I figured I would turn the display off over night and turn back on when I came in to see if the stick was still on.  When I turned the monitor on , I got a "no source signal" message.  While the blue light of the device was on, it seemed that it may have gone to sleep or shut down by itself.  I tried to type on the keyboard to wake it up but nothing.   I basically had to restart it.

Anybody know if this is possible?  I need the thing to always be awake without a monitor.  Thanks.

I'm running the Windows 10 stick with the updated BIOS

Ah...I realized that setting "0" minutes as the parameter for sleep or hibernation equates to never. I think that may have fixed the sleep issues. Will update.

This helped me too

Did this fix the sleep issue? I am still having the same problem - the device seems to sleep with a mind of its own. In beginning to wonder if this is an intentional feature that Lenovo built in.

Hmm.  Really?  Mine doesn't seem to sleep anymore.  I went into power saving settings (not the fancy Windows 10 interface, rather old school windows) and changed all that i could to "0"

Try going to Power Options->Change Plan Settings (of Custom option or whatever you named your current plan)->Change Advanced Power Settings:

Then from here expand

-Hard disk;

-Sleep->Hibernate after;

-Display->Turn off Display after

...amd change all of those to '0'

Hope it helps
