I get the feeling that these desktops are like their unwanted step-children that they wish they could forget because it would cost them too much to make things right with all the people who bought them. I have seen some good reviews on some of their other systems. Guess I have to remember to never be impulsive when it comes to buying computers. I thought I was getting a great deal on a computer with a good reputation and features that looked good in the specs. The cost is not just the bucks you pay to acquire it but the time you have to waste when they are lemons.

Well, Lenovo is at it agian. At this point I am not even mad just amused. I have learn not to expect any thing fair form lenovo.

I called them two days ago about the repartitioning disks. Two disks to repartition and one for the OS. But although having the repair disks confirms they admitt having a problem, and the fact I have documented evidence, (case numbers- WN017-620-talked to Trevor in March 2008; WN01-8143 talked to Allen on April 3, 2008 then followed up with Shawn; and WN02-1508 on May 7, 2008) They want to charge me Ten dollars each for the disk because I am out of warranty. THANKS MARK, YOU GOT US TO WAIT.

My C partition is down to 3.5 Gig. a few more important updates from Windows and it will be full. What happens then? It locked up the last time c filled up.

I don't get the warnings because I never started the base backup.

Just to show how ineffective lenovo is, When I first registered my warranty they tried to tell my it started on Dec.14, 2007. All CS reps confirmed that my warranty started in March 2008 after I sent a fax of my reciept.

The dumest thing I did was to drop the Service Contract I had bought form Office Depot after Lenovo assured me they would take good care of thier customers.

It seems like with big companies, when they find out they have sold a big batch of lemons, that their customer support becomes something different. Like when the Ford Explorers were flipping over I bet their support people were briefed on how to delay and avoid getting into the real liability at the heart of the matter. When I bought my Lenovo I didn't realize that it had the shortest warranty of any computer I have ever bought, when I realized It had major issues it was too late. I have never had a computer that didn't come with a disk so that you could at least tear it back down to the original state. The best tech support is tech support that you never need to call. Now it feels like I'm being asked if I want to pay a premium price for  service contract on a Pinto.

Lenovo tech support in Singapore are the worst computer tech support I ever encounter.

Motherboard was not replace after almost 2 months!

When I delivered in for repair/replace my motherboard (14th June), they told me 2 - 3 days (without checking their stock).

The next days, they call and said "no stock, have to wait, but don't know when the stock will arrive?".

I told them to check and get back to me, but they don't seem to care.

The week after I called them for an answer,

and they told me " wait 2 - 3 weeks".

After 3 weeks, there is still no answer.

When I called them again, they told me " an other 1 - 2 weeks".

After another 3 weeks, I called them for result and they told me they will get back to me later of the day....but it was a lies.

After another 3 days, I called them for an explaination... and none proper reason was given.

They just simply said "don't know when I have to wait".

errr!!!!!!

Their services department does not borther to call to feed back any outcome or follow up with me, and they can do that again and agian...

They seem that nothing borther them.

Lenovo computer ..... short life span, small problem cause you big money, lost of time ,anger and they just don't wish to care!

Please advise me!!!!!

I agree with the rating 1 and neg 10. They wont stay with you all the way to make sure the problem is fixed. They give you a case number and then say try this and call back. Every call back takes for ever for a tech to answer. I have a HP PC and they stay with you until it's resolved and then call you back a day or two later to see if all is still OK!! That's customer service!!!

ditwad,

Sorry to hear that this has been your experience.  In reviewing our call center volumes and trending, I note we have inbound and outbound calls, so I know that we do follow up with customers as well.   I understand that no process works 100% of the time, and we expect to hear from those that things didn't work out well for.

We offer surveys via email invites following service and support engagements, so I hope that everyone takes advantage of these to fairly score us and share their opinions on what worked well and what did not.

Out of curiosity, what number did you call for support?  Is your issue still outstanding?  If so, can you send me a PM with your contact information, system type & serial and case number from your last call?   I'd like to follow up to ensure this is taken care of.

TomWilly,

I'll follow up on your case - thanks for providing individual case numbers.   I'm sure we can resolve your OKR recovery media issues.   Thanks for letting us know.

Best regards,

Mark
