The graphics cards has standard ports, so the compatibility depends on if the machine has the available port and if the power supply is strong enought, but it depends on the card you are planning to get.
I always recommend checking the maintenance hardware manual for your model:
And also opening it up to see which ports it has available and the space it has inside.
According to the manual the S500 seems to be very narrow, so the common graphic card will not fit. I think that the "shorter" ones are are called "low profile graphics cards", please validate that.
The manual also says they mainboard has a "PCI Express x16 graphics card slot" so a graphic card with that standard will fit.
I hope this gives you some hints.
