Is it possible to totally disable Rescue and Recovery backups?

2008-04-25, 2:22 AM
R&R continues to run amuck. I have the PC on for perhaps 2 hours a day and find 4-5 stealth backups taken with no known reason or action on my part.

Success!

I did the download as suggested. When I tried to install it I got a message that

Client Security Solution

was not  compatible. Since I do not use Client Security Solution (or even know just what it is) I deleted it and then was able to install Rescue and Recovery. So far, no more stealth backups.

thanks for the help.

the thing you were mentioning may be related to system rejuvination functionality in some systems thought its good it works on the similar lines of xp's system restore try removing the option for taking incremental backups.you should also notice that back up and recovery are not automated processes and requrire human intiation in order to stop them...pls provide your model no so that a more
clear idea can be obtained about ur problem

It is

Lenovo 3000 J115/7387A11

I have deleted all backup files. Now, when I start the computer it asks if I want to create a base. If I say  NO  I then have no backup. If I say  YES  it creates a base and then immedately creats another backup marked  Scheduled  even though the item is greyed out.

i would also advice to make recovery discs of your system just in case and backup your personal data to an external source if possible
