I have recently purchased the new Lenovo Beacon NAS + media player.
However, I am quite confused with the embeded XBMC player. The player plays hardly any media. I have problems even with MP3, most video formats, videos from the YouTube addon etc..These formats wont play at all.
Another problem I have is, that there are hardly any settings options for skins, video a music playback in the settings menu. When I look at the XBMC player websites and screenshots, all the settings should be available in the player.
Do I have to install some adittional codecs? Do I have to install some other skin than the Cofluence skin to be able to use all the settings options?

I can play movies, but without sound. The sound works when I move in the menu. In the info I cannot see mac, IP. This product is worth half the money I payed for. Thinking of returning.

I have the same situation with the Beacon XBMC being a kind of a light version, with a lot of settings missing. Has anyone figured something out? Is there a way to update the XBMC on the Beacon?
I don't really care about the versions and numbers, I just find the fact that the Beacon doesn't play DD 5.1 audio through HDMI really annoying.
I actually bought it so I could play MKV with DD audio on my non smart TV through HDMI. Defeats its purpose now, when I can't get it to work.
Thanks and the best of luck with your Beacons.

The same problem here. I tried convert files, but I have too many and it takes too long. I do not know if we can call some helpdesk number.. Please post any ideas ..

I don't actually think that Lenovo has a helpdesk in my country, so if any of you do have it, make a run for it, maybe we are missing something.
What did you convert the files in to, from which format to which and what audio, DD, DTS, AAC, did you get any of them to work and produce 5.1 sound on your sound system?
